Oxygenated Solvents

Oxygenated solvents include alcohols, esters, ketones and a wide range of other products used in the surface coatings, pharmaceutical, printing, agrochemical and metal working industries.

Alcohols

Alcohols are versatile solvents with a pleasant odor. The length and structure include C1 to C6 alcohols such as Methanol, Ethanol, Isopropyl alcohol (IPA), Diacetone alcohol (DAA). Major applications are used include surface coatings, thinners, printing inks, adhesives, cosmetics, toiletries and cleaners. These products are also used in pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, medical applications, for the extraction of vitamins, as wetting agents in lithographic printing and as chemical intermediates.

These following products fall into this group:

  • Di Acetone Alcohol (DAA)
  • Ethanol 96 % denatured
  • Ethanol 99.9 % denatured
  • Iso Butanol (IBA)
  • Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA)
  • Methanol
  • N-Butanol

Glycol Ethers and their Acetates

Glycol ethers are extremely good solvents because they have a bifunctional nature (ether-alcohol). They are often used as coupling agents in applications such as water-based paints due to their miscibility with both polar and non-polar substances.

Glycol ethers are mainly used in surface coatings, printing inks, cleaners, cosmetics and agrochemical formulations. They are also used as extractants, and as coalescing agents and flow improvers in water-based paints.

A family of Ethylene / Propylene oxide based glycol ethers and their acetates:

  • Butyl Glycol
  • Butyl Di Glycol
  • Methoxy Propanol (PM)
  • Di Methoxy Propanol (DPM)
  • Methoxy Propyl Acetate (PMA)
  • Ethoxy Propanol (PE)
  • Ethyl 3- Ethoxypropionate (EEP Solvent)

Others

We also supply other chemical compound:

  • N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP)
  • Trichloroethylene (TCE)

Esters

Ester is a derivative of acetic acid. Two types of derivatives are known, salts and ester.

     A family of esters include:

  • Ethyl Acetate (EA)
  • N-Butyl Acetate (BA)
  • Sec-Butyl Acetate (Sec-BA)

Ketones

Ketones are water clear, highly mobile liquids with a characteristic odor. They are chemically very stable. Due to the carbonyl group, ketones are hydrogen acceptors and have an outstanding solvency.

Ketones are used in surface coatings, adhesives, thinners, printing inks and cleaning agents. Other industrial uses are in pharmaceuticals, extraction, dewaxing.

We supply many ketones covering the whole range of volatilities.

  • Acetone
  • Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK)
  • Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (MIBK)
  • Cyclohexanone
  • Isophorone
